At Lilo type "<kernel image label> vga=ask" which will give you a list of
different "resolutions" to choose from. You can also add a line to
/etc/lilo.conf "vga=ask" and Lilo will automaticly ask you each time. If
you find one option that you like best you can change "ask" to the option
you like on both the Lilo prompt or the lilo.conf file.
You might also want to try framebuffer support in your kernel but if you
just want to fit more text on your cosole then the "vga=whatever" trick
should work fine.
