Its been a few years since I've played with news & friends, but as I
remember, one needs to keep the following in mind:
1. Expire can kill your system - you probably want to expire chunks
at a time.
2. You really need to get the cooperating of an upstream provider.
Otherwise you'll saturate their line downloading news and they'll
get upset.
3. Keep /var/news/spool on separate partitions, and preferably on
separate disks and controller (although I don't think this matters
as much with the later releases).
4. Prepare to spend more time than you thought administering news.
(Just a newbie warning - grizzled news admins know this and know
which groups to ignore).
Other than that, its not too difficult, but it can be a real time
sink
