Hi, Thanks for all the "e-mail on Linux" responses.
I think I'm going to stick with Netscape for now and
hope newer versions get more stable. I still use pine
when telneting or just a quick and dirty e-mail though.
If you all don't mind, I have a couple more questions.
Until now, I've been a simple User of unix/Linux. Now
I'm starting driver work on Linux. I would like to set an xterm
up as the console window so I can see the messages I'm
sending out with printk during insmod/rmmod. I can't figure
this out. I know I can tail -f /var/log/messages but I'd like
to have everything in the same window.
My second question is, I need to allocate kernel memory.
I can do this with kmallloc and get_free_page. One of the
things that is confusing me is kmem_alloc. I see references
to it all over the place when searching for kernel memory allocation
on the web. What's up with this?
Thanks in advance,
Kenny
