The best tool that I have found is CSAR. Common Sense And Research!!! My
motto is: "Cracked once, shame on me. Hacked twice, shame on me." You
can use hardening scripts to secure the box (Bastille, MedussaDS9,
etc.), you can use PortSentry to watch for inappropriate traffic and
modify it to respond with different actions. However, under Title 18,
there is no provision for self defense against an electronic attacker.
