Well, the hiatus has ended, I am back and ready to move forward.
First news is that we are looking for a new home for the GNHLUG quarterly
meetings starting with the one Aug 28, 29, or 30. Stark Mill Brewery in
Manchester is no longer a viable option and having waited three weeks for a
response from Channel 9 to use their Conference room, I feel we have to
move on and find another location. I will let you know within the next few
days as to where the meeting will be. The presentation will be given by
Applix on the ApplixWare office suite.
Don't forget the Samba presentation at the Seacoast and dinner at Red Hook
before on Aug 14th.
We, the GNHLUG, still need a person to volunteer for the TREASURER
position. It would help if the volunteer knew something about accounting
(not a lot needed). The Non-profit papers will be filed with the State
tomorrow and we should have the paperwork back within two weeks.
You should all have received the notes that Jeff Smith took at the 2001
Linux Business Show formation meeting, as well as his ideas from the Share
convention as they might apply to the LBS. Please read over them both and
if you have suggestions, for or against the ideas presented, please let the
whole group know. You can send them to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] and we
will try to get them all sorted out as quickly as we can. If this could be
done by Aug 18th, then the decision Committee can meet before the end of
August.
The main areas of thought need to be given to:
1) One day or two day Show (one or two days for vendors & or one or two
days of work shops by whomever).
2) Weekday(s) or weekend (Weekends may not be possible during the last two
weeks of April, all of May and now first three weeks of June at any of the
Convention hotels)
3) The two locations (cities) being given the highest marks at this point
are Portsmouth again or Nashua (Concord a distant third).
The rest of the ideas as to regards to agenda, etc. can work from and after
these three parts of the equation are decided.
As to GNHLUG merchandise available.

60+ CD's burned by GNHLUG of various distros (latest
releases) $2.00 ea
65+ LBS Show t-shirts at $9.00 each
165+ GNHLUG t-shirts at $11.00 & $13.00 each
We can mail these to you or have them at the meetings anywhere in the State.
They make great advertising as well as presents as well as helping the
GNHLUG out (and a particular member).
