(snip good stuff about us)

One correction - last month's was the 4th Wed, due to speaker
conflict. This month, I don't think we have anything set up - the 3rd
week is LinuxWorld, where many of the Nashua folks who set stuff up
are going to be (except those of us on vacation). If someone wants to
set something up, contact myself or Paul ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) about how
to schedule Martha's.

Sept & Oct meetings are in the GNHLUG schedule at
http://www.gnhlug.org.

Welcome, Dick. We're always interested in new ideas.
In terms of streaming media: I'd head to http://freshmeat.net (an
excellent spot to find open source software), then do a search on
streaming. I got multiple hits, one's that may work (I don't have a
sound card, so I can't tell if it does WMF format):
Gstreamer at http://gstreamer.sourceforge.net
FreeAmp at: http://www.freeamp.org

In terms of your statement of never paying a dime for dos or windows -
just look at MS's profits. You paid. The fact that it was hidden
inside the computer costs doesn't mean it didn't exist. I keep
reminding people of the term Robert Heinlein puts in _The Moon is a
Harsh Mistress_ - TANSTAAFL. There Ain't No Such Thing as a Free
Lunch. It all costs, it's a matter of how, who, & what you pay. Free
software the cost is in learning (as it actually is in Windows too -
I've to complete novices Windows, and trust me, it's not intuitive),
and effort to support the community to improve the product. The
payment is to the community (which includes yourself). Windows the
payment ultimately is cash & frustration, and the cash is straight to
MS.

Again, welcome, join in, ask questions, and see you at the meetings.
