Some people had asked, who is doing the presentation?
It will be a group discussion. I would love to have
firewall experts there, but this is expected to be more
of a "What can it do for me?" type presentation.
I expect it to start out non-technical, but I'm sure there will
be questions well beyond my meager firewall knowledge.
Expected questions:
Can I have a firewall, & still do ICQ, or chat rooms?
Will a firewall protect my windows machines from viruses?
If I use a firewall, do I still need security on my inner network?
Can I do a firewall on the same machine as IPmasquerading?
Can I do a firewall on the same machine as other as email, etc.?
Is a firewall the same thing as a router, or switch?
Why do I want to use one, anyway?
Can I use a 386, or 486 as a firewall?
I would go for a discussion of these issues on the list, as well,
because "It ain't what you don't know that gets you.
It's what you do know that ain't true."
