ok i think that i have found the problem.........
in win2k pro my modem shows up as com3, irq 3, IO 0x02f8 0x02ff
now.......my modem works fine in windows with this setup. in linux
/dev/ttyS1 is the device that corresponds to that IRQ and that IO
address....however ttyS2 is the device that should work!....now on to my
second question...
using setserial i have looked at my /dev/ttySX's and seen that /dev/ttyS2
isn't setup correctly.....i give the command
setserial /dev/ttyS2 UART 16550A PORT 0x02f8 IRQ 3
and it tells me that the resources are in use by another entry......how do
i disable the entry that is already using that IO address...or do i want to?
another question....anyone know how to make my palm pilot work in
linux? do i have to point /dev/pilot to /dev/ttyS0 (the port that my
cradle is attached to)?
