1) If your sources use autoconf, then building a .deb package is not
   difficult.  "dh_make" does most of the work.  However,
2) There are a lot of rules and conventions a Debian package should comply
   with.  They are outlined in the Debian Policy and Debian Packaging Manual.
3) If you want to make Debian packages available to the public, please
   do it through the Debian project.  That means you must either become a
   Debian developer yourself, or persuade some Debian developer to
   sponsor your package.  (This is a significant difference between
   Debian and Red Hat.  IMHO the Red Hat packages are easier to build,
   but Debian packages have better quality control.)
