Hello folks,
I tried to attend the last Martha's Exchange meeting a couple of
weeks ago but the hostess said it had been cancelled.
I will not be able to attend the Sep. 27 meeting because I'm
catching a flight (hmm... maybe I can change it), but I'd like
to let you all know that I want to start a Lowell LUG.
I do a lot of Irish dancing and have noticed that there is a big
difference between the monthly dances and the weekly dances.
The monthly dances have a very regular clientele. The weekly
dances have a core of regulars but a dynamic turnaround of
newcomers.
That is what I am hoping to accomplish with a Lowell LUG. A
place that is regularly attended, for example, alternating Tues,
Wed., weekly that newcomers could know to come to expect to be
able to find Linux information, and some expertise available.
Also, a Faire atmosphere, hawking of books, CD's would
be strongly encouraged, as there really is no such thing as a
Linux store (anyone got the capitol to start one?!!)
I've talked to the brewery in Lowell and they are game for
letting their conference rooms be used in exchange for
buffet dinner or dinner orders individually.
Lot's of comments welcome.
Alex Miller
