Check out http://www.helixcode.com. Install the Helix desktop, and
you'll get Licq, along with a whole host of other goodies. The problem
with the RPMS that you mentiond sounds like you weren't root. You need
to be root to lock the RPM database. Also, you can usually add the
--nodeps option to avoid dependency checking.
