Each Chapter Chairman will inevitably find his own way of tackling this
problem.
As for the Monadlug chapter we have been having introductions every couple
of meetings since before I took over as Chairman.
Most of us do find the name tag/badge idea dated, and hate to put holes in
the clothes or wear those sticky tags that stay on about 15 minutes.
You want to see the length of meeting drag forever, waiting for 40 people
to beam each person into a palm......hmmmmmmmm
As for the GNHLUG meetings, where they are only held 4 times a year and
there is so much on the table to get through, then the suggestion of asking
the newcomers to identify themsleves is more appropriate.
As a matter of fact, if we had everyone sign up as they enter, and put a
star by their name if they were a newcomer,, then the Chair could introduce
them. If the volume of newcomers was larger than normal, then maybe it
would be a signal for us to do an entire intro so the newcomers would know
who everyone was.
As it is, from my perspective, I do try to introduce the different
Committee people so the members will know who we are.
