Hmm. Perhaps 'Jargon' wasn't quite the word I meant (if I used it).
At this point, the jargon (generally) isn't what loses me. It's the sheer
volume of information that the group as a whole knows. Besides, how do you
ask a question about a topic with which you are completely unfamiliar?
Especially if it's technical enough that there *is* no quick summary of
it.
*shrug* I tend to be (relatively) quiet both onlist and at meetings AFA
the technical topics because I *don't* know enough about a lot of topics
to ask questions. But listening usually gives me a good enough feel for
them to go searching for info at a later date (if I remember and/or am
interested enough in them).
I have now completely lost the original point of my message, so I'm going
to stop now. Hopefully something I said both related and made sense. :)
