Hello all,

We've all heard the arguments from Microsoft that their products (Windows,
Exchange, Office, et. al.) have a lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) then
Free Software like Linux. Well, I wonder if they include *this*

in their TCO calculations. Basically, Microsoft has forced the IT section of
Virginia Beach's local government to shut down and check their entire inventory
of Microsoft software for license conformance. Response time for IT issues,
such as new computers, has shot up to *three or four weeks*, while their IT
department is forced to check up on their Microsoft purchases.

So, the next time you're tallying up those thousands and thousands of dollars
in Microsoft license fees, don't forget to include the three to four weeks of
downtime per year when the Microsoft Storm Troopers invade your office looking
for software piracy.
