For a number of reasons, I've decided to re-install, and in fact switch from
a Redhat based system, that largely works to Mandrake. What I don't want to
do is go through all the pain of getting my monitor to work at high
resolution; getting my modem to work, getting my sound to work etc. If any
of you happen to remember where these nasty little config files are I'd
appreciate a reminder since it's been months/years since I had to deal with
those issues.

TIA

TomR

P.S. Any other advice is welcome too. I'm going to be installing the
WalMArt Mandrake, and then re-installing KDE2 since I've heard that the
WalMart distro is actually a KDE2 beta and I have a "real" KDE2 on CD from a
recent download.

it's broken.
