  The "best" way is probably to use software designed for mass mailing, i.e.,
a mailing list manager like majordomo, mailman, etc.

  If you would rather not go to the trouble of setting that up, you might try
using a "Bcc:" header instead of a "To:" or "Cc:" header.  Sometimes that will
make a difference.

  Why are you sending an email to 3000 people, anyway?  :-)
