Could it their tech writers are getting bad information from the engineers?
I've seen more manuals which are incorrect wrt file/scriot names than I can 
remember.

Try running the script and see if it works.

Also, along with what mwl said, if it's been window-ized, try mounting it in a 
windows box and see what they show up as.
