No it's French. The original spelling was L'Huissier, which can actually
still be found (some insurance company in Chelmsford has this spelling).
The spelling was shortened and changed many generations ago, and at this point
we don't even consider ourselves French, but rather, quite patriotic Americans
Why did you think we were Roman? :)
