Two things.  First,

At least one network driver in 2.4.0 has problems and is to be one of
the patches for 2.4.1.  You didn't mention which network card you have,
so I don't know if the 3c59x driver problem hits you or not.

Second, where's your sense of paranoia?  It is a .0 release, after
all...
