A general dotfile generator program is dotfile-generator (catchy name). From the
debian package description:
"Easy configuration of popular programs through Tcl/Tk interface
The Dotfile Generator is a configuration tool, which configures the basic
features, and even more exotic features of your favorite programs. It
translates information from checkboxes, entries, menus etc. to some sort
of code (eg. Lisp, C, the configuration language for the fvwm window
manager, or any other textual code). This transformation is coded in
modules, where the programmer tells which elements are to be shown (a
checkbutton, listbox, etc.) and gives some help on each element."
One module available is Dotfile-procmail, a dotfile generator module for (guess what)
procmailrc files. Other modules available include:
dotfile-tcsh - Dotfile Generator, module for tcsh
dotfile-rtin - Dotfile Generator, module for rtin
dotfile-fvwm1 - Dotfile Generator, module for fvwm1
dotfile-fvwm2 - Dotfile Generator, module for fvwm2
dotfile-doc - Dotfile Generator modules programmer documentation.
dotfile-elm - Dotfile Generator, module for elm
dotfile-ipfwadm - Dotfile Generator, module for ipfwadm
dotfile-bash - Dotfile Generator, module for bash
(above listing courtesy of apt-cache search on the testing tree of Debian).
