  Run "top", press "M" to sort by memory.

  Run "free -m -t".

  Make sure you aren't just seeing buffer cache; that is usually what people
panic about when they think all their memory is gone.  In particular, look at
the "-/+ buffers/cache" line for the "free" value in "free".
