Yup - and the ironic part is people never learn...
I had to work at home today - KP (Kid Patrol) due to illness
and at one point tried to send a message to my boss at work.
It was so much fun to watch the server bounce the message
back to me and then watch the message counter spiral upward
as I had seen repeatedly over the past few months. We had
been nailed yet again by the same type of attack which
has nailed our site ??? times due to the fact people don't
stop and look before opening Email (or set the lazy bits on
their stinkin' M$ tools).
I wonder if these same people, after being told by their
parents to look both ways before crossing the street, would
have just walked out and took their chances... in front of a
bus.
I also wonder if our MIS will ever be able to convince MGMT to
dump this piece of M$ junk (maybe by showing them some stats on
company downtime & MIS man-hours wasted due to it's inherent
holes).
My next employer will be a "closed UNIX shop" - it won't cure
the stupidity, but a smart SysAdmin will be able to limit the
damages and the downtime - nuff said. ;)
