A week or so ago I asked for queries about mail clients that run on
both Linux and Win32.

I quickly narrowed the search down to two projects -- that's all I know
that met my criteria of running under both Linux and Win32.

The one I selected was Mahogany <http://mahogany.sourceforge.net/>.
This GPL'ed (or Artistic license, your choice) project is aimed straight
at end users. It includes nice touches like a "tip of the day" annoyance
and seems fairly polished, even though it's still in beta. I was able to
give this to a couple of Windows users with the associated *.PDF
documentation and they had no problems using it and seemed fairly happy.

Mahogany basically looks and feels like...let's say a previous version
of Eudora. It isn't as feature filled as many GNU/Linux mail clients, and
it has some bugs and problems in its Python scripting module, but it's
slick enough to please many Windows users and is not so constraining as to
too excessively annoy GNU/Linux users.

The other project which was mentioned was the UnixMail project
<http://unixmail-w32.sourceforge.net/>. This one seems neat -- an effort
to port Mutt and common *nix mail utilities to Windows using CygWin -- but
it didn't meet my criteria for being touchy-feely, so I didn't investigate
it that much.
