Well, there are several very competent sys admins on the list who
undoubtably will have better suggestions than mine, but I'll take
a quick stab.

You could probably write a short shell script to grep the
"Message-id:" line of each message, save it unless it's already
on the list, in which case you can delete it. This implies that
the longer the list, the time it takes to process each additional
message will increase geometrically, but it's still faster than
doing it by hand, I'd think.

Anyway, it's just an idea...
