Hello list,
What is the "right way" to set a resource limit (ulimit) on a system-wide
basis? Or at least, how do I set it for myself when I login to GNOME? I just
had Mozilla go bonkers, eat all available memory, and lock my system, hard.
I used to set a ulimit in a shell script which ran Netscape, but didn't
implement any such feature for Mozilla. I am now thinking a session-wide
limit setting would be Much Better, as it would prevent me from forgetting it.
I have such a limit in my .bash_profile file, but that does not affect
programs started from (e.g.) a GNOME panel.
