Note - and I mentioned this last night at Martha's - that one of the
components that has to be updated is "util-linux". However, Red Hat
splits the stuff that's in util-linux into two (or more?) different
RPMs. Other distributions might as well, so be careful.

Personally, I have Red Hat 6.1 running with the 2.4.2-ac## kernel
right now, having incrementally updated the various components during
the course of the 2.3.n kernel series. However, I've purchased SuSE 7.1
Professional and am planning on installing very shortly, once I resolve
some, um, non-Linux system issues at home.
