Best bet I know is to back up the things you need, re-install Potato, and 
upgrade to Testing.  

However, the new apt in unstable supposedly has some options for this 
(downgrading).  Since I only run Testing (leading edge, not bleeding 
edge), I haven't checked them.  If you've got Unstable, try a "man apt"?
