Actually, now I've written that (and finished my coffee) I don't think
that's right. You'll need the source RPM file, should be something like
apache-x.x.x.src.rpm, if you have a box set there should be SRPM CD(s), or
you can grab it from one of the RH mirrors (assuming your using RH here).
You install it just like any other RPM:
rpm -ivh apache-x.x.x.src.rpm, and it will but the source tarball into
/usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/ from there you can do as you wish, extract the
source somewhere and then point mod_perl at it. I've done this and it does
work, just make source you get the same SRPM version for the RPM you have
installed.
