Please forgive my earlier ignorant comment. I mistakenly thought that the
LBS was another LUG chapter and it sounded like it would be ending. Please
accept my apologies

for those who don't recognize my email addr. I was the bonehead that
mentioned a death spiral. Sorry.

Subject: 2001 LBS

To clarify in a very short note as to the planning and standing of the 2001
LBS to this date, I thought I should update you all.

Jeff Smith, Lori and myself have had two meetings and Jeff and I have met
over other issues and talked about the LBS planning for 2001. As the time
sped by and Lori's back injury led to delaying more thorough planning, our
last meeting in January we made the decision to shoot for a fall LBS. Maybe
in September.

However, with Jeff's busy schedule, my increased role in new things
happening here at ASI and at home, as well as Lori's business demands, the
progress on the LBS has taken a back seat from all of us.

There is no blame to anyone and though the LNS lives on in many of our
minds as a viable opportunity for the GNHLUG to bring Linux to more New
Hampshire business leaders, we must remind ourselves that we are a
volunteer organization and we can only do what we can do.

I for one am of the opinion the show can go on. However, maybe not in 2001.
It takes a long time to do the work involved in putting on any type of
event, and more if we want to make a better event than the 2000 LBS.

The floor is open for any type of discussion concerning the LBS and the
role that one might want to assume as the Chair if someone would be
interested.

The comments I have read here on the list have certainly been insightful,
and dead on.Except for one. There is no downward spiral, but a chance to
reflect refocus, re-energize and go forward.

Chairman, GNHLUG
