Please forgive me if I've been glazing over during previous
discussions, but I thought that the forced conversion to xinetd didn't
happen until RH7. I just installed a system with RH6.2 (instead of
just upgraded 6.0, my usual stunt), and inetd isn't there (neither is
xinetd). It used to come from netkit-base, but there is no such rpm
on my ghnlug RH6.2 CD, nor in the distribution image at codemeta. The
update list for 6.2 at RedHat doesn't mention netkit. (And neither is
there an xinetd rpm.)
So if there is someone out there running inetd on RH6.2, from
what rpm did it come?
Or if all the where is inetd posting that have gone by were
about 6.2, go ahead and beat me up.
Bill
