Geez I'm a dinosaur: I think of a spell checker as a unwanted "user friendly"
extra :-)
My mail clients let me use vi/vim to compose mail and I just have a
macro "Alt-s" to pass the file thru spell(1).
Unix dinosaurs never die, they just create more elaborate macros and
shell scripts.
