Obviously, if you have any data on the system you would like to preserve,
back it up first.
If you are planning on using this system for Internet access (dialup, DSL,
etc.), make sure you have the information (username, password, access phone
number, address information, etc.) written down somewhere.
After you have the hardware inventories, you might want to check
compatibility status, especially for the video card. Since you're installing
Red Hat, you can check Red Hat's Hardware Compatibility List on their website.
Other than that, you sound like you are in good shape.
