I didn't catch the original message, but MH does this beautifully. (I use 
exhm, which is a graphical front end). You can use the pick command and 
select message based on severl criteria, such as before and after. Once 
selcted, then move the message to another mailbox.

But, since mh maintains its messages in directories, there is nothing that 
prevents you from moving message by hand or using tools like find and grep.
