Wait, I think I know what Marc is referring to.

In VLAN terminology, there's a concept of a trunk (traffic from
multiple VLANs can easily travel over such a link).

Port aggregation schemes also refer to something called a "trunk".

However, these two "trunks" are different.  Port aggregation
technology is different from VLAN technology.
