I might be missing what you are referring to... but what is wrong with just unplugging them and turning the computer back on?
My firewall box is a 486 with no keyboard, mouse, or monitor (it has an old video card, I haven't tried removing the video card yet: I'm curious what happens!!!). Once it boots I just access it thru ethernet or, as backup, via a serial cable (getty) between it and my workstation.
