Does anyone know if fdisk is enough preparation for a new disk (presumably
formatted as FAT or some other MS format) or do I need to re-format this
disk? I want to use it as an ext2 disk, but I'm adding it to an already
running system. The usual Linux installations offer to format disks, but I
don't seem to have a format command. I can mount it now that fdisk has
written a partition table, but I wonder if that is enough. It didn't seem to
take enough time to re-write every block, check for errors etc. Any hints ?

TIA

TomR
