A couple of weeks ago one of my disk drives started making scary noises.
There was no valuable data on it, just some software that I thought I could
download again if the disk went south. It did and I can't find all of the
stuff I want (like gphoto). Anyway, I've got yet another Western Digital
drive making noises and I'm starting to think that my brand loyalty to WD is
misplaced. So what the hell ? Can we have a nice little flame war about
disk drive brands ?

Since this isn't strictly speaking about Linux, I'll offer this value add to
the group; send me an email with
MTBF of disks
as the subject, and a brand name with a rating from -10 (this is junk) to +10
(this is bullet proof), one brand/rating per line in the body and I'll post a
summary to the list in one week. If you feel you have an interesting rant,
please include it after the easily parsable part. I'll include them in my
summary to the group.

Of course this is assuming that the disk I collect all this email on keeps
spinning...
