Hi Paul,
I am taking my second Linux\Unix class at The New
Hampshire Technical College. I am taking it at the
Manchester Campus, but I believe that they offer it at
several locations.
The first class (Linux I) was a good introduction
to linux. The second class (Linux II) is Linux for
Business. We are mainly using Redhat but we have set
up a Solaris 8 server, and we may do BSD before we
end.
The instructors name is Fran Ingram. He is a Unix guy
from way back. I've had him in both classes and I
really enjoyed his classes.
I have a pretty good Network background (Novell
CNE, MS MCP, Mac experience, Some Sun,SCO, and IRIX
Unix experience). I had taken a Linux boot camp a
couple of years ago. It was a two day seminar and
while it was a great start with Linux it gave me
enough information to be dangerous. There were major
holes in my Linux\Unix training. That's why I went
back to the begining and started with Linux I. I don't
regret it.
The classes cost about $400.00 for each class. I
usually take my classes in the evening or weekends.
Hope this was helpful.
