Well, I'm in trouble. Whilst updating my RH 6.2 system, I was gicen
notice that one of ximian's sane packages was of a later version than
what I was trying to install. So I did this:

rpm -Uvh xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
   1:xsane-gimp ########################################### [100%]
ln: cannot create symbolic link `/usr/lib/gimp/1.0/plug-ins/xsane' to
`../../../..//bin/xsane-gimp': No such file or directory
error: execution of %post scriptlet from xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1 failed,
exit status 1

Being foolish, I tried repeatedly. Still no luck. Now i have this
problem:

sudo rpm -qa | grep sane | sort
sane-1.0.1-4.1
sane-devel-1.0.1-4.1
xsane-0.82-1.1
xsane-gimp-0.75-ximian.4
xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1
xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1
xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1
xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1
xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1

"Ack!" I cry. I tried:

rpm -e xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1
error: "xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1" specifies multiple packages

and:

rpm -e xsane-gimp-0.82-1.1 --force
rpm: only installation, upgrading, rmsource and rmspec may be forced

I just want to get rid of all xsane-gimp packages on this box. Help?
