Well, technically, GNHLUG is not a business, and entities who are not
out to earn a profit aren't either, they're non-profit organizations.
Being a business does require a profit motive, by definition.

However, whether or not that's the case, Ben's argument can be
extended to say that ALL entities which provide something need to have
a means to cover their expenses.  If they provide something without
covering their expenses, eventually they will be unable to do so.
Providing free e-mail to half the Internet population is expensive,
and they need to generate revenue to do that.
