...which allows you to submit some
monster-ugly URL and get a shorter one
as an alias. For example, they gave me
http://makeashorterlink.com/?N1E9239A
...as an alias for
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=70&e=2&cid=70&u=/cn/20020410/tc_cn/gateway_croons_for_copying_tunes
