Thanks for the feedback!  :)

I reinstalled from scratch, choosing to NOT install
absolutely everything.  Now that the basic system is
installed, all I need to do is configure my devices it
wouldn't detect, or had NO driver for.  
Unfortunately, it is a laptop and Suse doesn't seem to
like it too much.  It doesn't even seem to have PCMCIA
drivers.  ***sigh***  Back to the drawing board yet
again.
