A couple of things: - there are a number of different chips that make up the Rage 128 family. The one you have might not support acceleration under XFree86 (but I think it does). Never really was able to figure out how to tell... - There are two components of DRI that are actually part of the kernel: the DRI driver, and the DRI support for your specific card. You may need to recomplie your kernel and make sure both are included. > I alos notice ther are a lot of font errors. This isn't a big deal; you can safely ignore them. Oh, one other thing you might try changing: the bit depth. Some older X apps for Unix systems expect to be running on an 8-bit display, and don't work properly on high-color or true-color displays (16-bit and 32-bit respectively). Older releases of HP-Omniback are one example. You could try experimenting with that to see if it makes a difference. Also, some cards that are supported by DRI are (or were) only supported at certain bit depths.
