  Again, the real issue with satellite is latency.  It is ideal for
"streaming" content, like multimedia or large file downloads.  It can be
made to work for things like web browsing.  For anything interactive (like
SSH, or a VPN), it is painfully slow.

  Also, many of the satellite companies are not Linux friendly.  I know one
of our customers was recently told to switch their gateway from Linux to
Windows, or lose their feed.  They use Starband, FWIW.
