"rpm2tgz" works just fine for me. I recommend that you run "tar -tvzf <file> > <outputNFO.txt>" before uncompressing so you can see where the files are going first. I've only had an occasional misplacement on my Slackware 8.0 [kernel 2.2.19] though, and it was easy to fix, even if I didn't check first. (I have only done this with binaries.) BTW, there is a wonderful review and install instructions for Slackware 8.1rc2 at: http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/4241/1/ Complete [unofficial] mirror information with rsync is found at: http://alphageek.dyndns.org/linux/slackware-current.shtml -- =ksandre= "Gold is the corpse of value." _CRYPTONOMICON_ by Neal Stephenson ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text 'unsubscribe gnhlug' in the message body. *****************************************************************
