I'm thinking of using it as a headless and diskless "black box" that one could co-locate with a larger server (like a SUN with a tty console) and literally attach it to the back with a piece of velcro. It would be attached to both a network and the larger server's console via its serial port. It would then be used to provide remote access during crisis situation and very possibly some kind of console monitoring/logging function.
When we get one to boot, all the rest boot for the price of the box plus the cost of adding a DHCP record. -Andy On Tuesday 18 June 2002 01:32 pm, Jon Hall wrote: > They tell you on the page "don't forget to order a keyboard and a > mouse".... > > ...seems to me a monitor might also be a nice purchase, unless you wish > to use it as a diskless node in a Beowulf. > > md ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text 'unsubscribe gnhlug' in the message body. *****************************************************************
