The only way I can think of is really more of a hack, but you could set up a 2 column grid view. In the left column you can put some sized view_type objects with text on them (using put_line), using new lines to stack them vertically. In the right column you stack the text areas with labels attached.
I think that will left justify all the text strings in the left column and all the text fields in the right column as well. I know that probably isn't what you are looking for, but maybe David or another user will have a better answer in a bit.
