Hi, The first release of 'frogr: Flickr Remote Organizer for GNOME' is finally out. It's still a very early release so do not expect a very complete application, bug-free code and the like, but just a basic application which should work ok in a regular basis for a regular user.
Due to a last-minute mistake, I'm actually announcing 0.1.1 instead of 0.1, which basically fixes a problem in the 'make dist' command, as it's stated in the NEWS file. * What is it ? ============== Flickr Remote Organizer for GNOME (frogr) intends to be a complete application to remotely manage a flickr account from the GNOME desktop. It uses the flickcurl library [1] to communicate with the server through the publicly available flickr REST API. At this moment frogr is basically a flickr uploader for GNOME, but the plan is to iteratively evolve it towards a complete flickr manager which should allow things such as modifying properties for already uploaded pictures, managing flickr albums an so forth. This project is Free Software and published under the terms of the GNU Public License v3. * What's in 0.1.1 ? =================== * GtkBuilder-based and minimalistic UI. * Basic XML-based configuration management to store authorization data. * Upload pictures to flickr, allowing to edit basic details about them first (title, description, tags and visibility). * Support for editing details of multiple pictures at the same time. * Use deprecated libgnome if gtk+ >= 2.14 is not present, to open URLs in the default browser when needed. * Still implemented some parts of the UI (menubar) without GtkBuilder to keep compatibility with Gtk+ 2.12 (least version supported). * Where can I get it ? ====================== Source code: http://frogr.googlecode.com/files/frogr-0.1.1.tar.gz http://frogr.googlecode.com/files/frogr-0.1.1.tar.bz2 Upstream code in git repository at http://gitorious.org/frogr: git clone http://git.gitorious.org/frogr/mainline.git Distro-specific packages also available in the web of the project [2]: http://code.google.com/p/frogr/downloads/list Thanks, Mario -- [1] http://librdf.org/flickcurl [2] http://code.google.com/p/frogr _______________________________________________ gnome-announce-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-announce-list
