yes, no one has ever used them, and we seem to have better ways of
running commands now, so yes, I vote for removing them.

As soon as you finish, I'll release 1.9.99. So, please, everybody
(specially Murray), have a look at it and let us know of any missing
thing, so that we can fix it before the 2.0.0 release.
