Are you using GTK+ widgets on GDA for your applications or just libgda?

Have you notice the --without-ui switch to avoid use GDA-UI? I think libgda
without UI, can run without problems in most systems.

Why are you using resent version of GObject Introspection? AFAIK is better
to use version released at the time GDA 4.2 was in order to avoid conflicts
like the one you've found.

If you aren't using GObject Introspection and GDA-UI (Gtk+ widgets) at all,
may you can use following switches:

./configure --without-ui --disable-gda-gi --disable-gdaui-gi

They allows you to compile without that dependencies.
